My alopecia journey started almost 8 years ago, I know first hand how difficult it is living with hair loss. Those first few years were very hard, all I wanted was to be my old self again before alopecia.
I always found it hard to find the right wig and have spent a fortune trying to find the one. The day I tried a hair topper was my turning point and I haven’t looked back.
I am still living every day with alopecia, the difference is it no longer matters so much. I am owning it and living my life with amazing hair!

Below you will find the answers to some of the most often asked questions on choosing a hair topper. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions.
Coping with hair loss can make you feel very alone and always thinking why me. Always feeling self-conscious and comparing yourself with others.
Alopecia and other hair loss conditions are not considered as a medical issue and therefore there is little that can be done. Your hopes of a cure or treatment plan are not out there leaving you feeling very frustrated and sad.
Over the last 8 years I have learned so much about what is out there, so many of us have hair loss or thinning hair you really don’t have to feel alone. The hair loss community is full of amazing people who are winning with great hair days. It gave me the confidence to start turning it around and feeling like I can have amazing hair days just like everyone else.

Hair toppers are a very simple yet effective solution to instantly transform your hair by adding volume to fine thin hair.
Toppers are similar to wigs but cover less of your head. Topper’s clip into your hair using pressure sensitive clips.
To wear topper, you must have some of your own hair to attach the topper to. You will then blend your own hair with the topper.

Wearing Human hair close to your own bio hair is a good way to feel like it belongs to you in your daily wear. Blending a Topper into your own bio hair will make you forget your even wearing alternative hair.
Wearing human hair gives you so many more options with styling to suit your lifestyle. If you use the right products to wash and style your topper it will last you up to 2 years.
The hardest question of them all where do I start in knowing what topper is right for me.
When looking for your first topper you need to decide on what overall look you want to achieve. For most the natural looking me is a good staring point. Mello Hair stock a cap size that can cover most hair loss areas if that’s patches or thinning.
When it comes to choosing density of your hair topper, it is important to understand that thicker hair dose not always give a natural look.

Here at Mello-Hair, I believe in getting it right before making any purchase of a hair topper. In-person and online consultations are available to help you make the right choices.
If for any reason you decide that the hair topper isn’t right for you then I offer a seven-day return policy. The piece must be returned within 7 working days of receipt in the same condition the piece was received, along with when posting your hair topper back to Mello-Hair you must use Royal Mail special delivery and state the value of your package. We ask that you provide the tracking number on all returned items.
The box and all other components must be returned with the piece in its original condition.
If 7-days have passed since the delivery of the purchased hair topper, unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund or exchange. Customers need to request a refund or exchange within the time frame to be eligible.
For all custom orders, a 40% deposit is required. If the completed piece isn’t right, 50% of the deposit paid is refunded. Customers will be made aware of the deposit requirements and the refund policy for all custom orders.
If you want to return a custom piece after purchase you will have 7-days after delivery. Once the piece has been returned and inspected a refund will be issued.
If a hair topper is purchased during an in-person consultation, and the customer changes their mind, they will only be eligible for an exchange. Please get in touch within 7-days if you would like to request an exchange. After 7-days have passed since the purchase, an exchange will not be valid.
